HMAR

HMAR coating is the regular antireflective coating and the base for all other coatings.
It consists of a hardcoat layer and many anti-reflection layers.

HMAR mean Hard Mult Anti Reflection. Other names on the market would be HMC (for Hard Multi Coat) or HSET (in Germany Hart Superentspiegelung)

The hardcoat increases the abrasion resistance of the lens and the anti-reflection coat to increase the transmittance of the lens and reduce surface reflections
